The first week after our three-day gradual entry, children start to feel settled down. We observed children’s exploratory journey in the center and found that babies are especially intrigued by sound!
Every morning when they come in, a gentle “good morning” with welcoming high-tone voice gets them happy; when they are upset about being apart from parents, the sound of a shaker often soothes them. Making sounds is a way for children to communicate and make connections with surroundings. We value any sound that comes from children as it carries on children’s words and emotions- it plays an important role in their development. It’s easy to see why children connect to sound and music so promptly.
