Colors are everywhere around us and using games that recognise them can easily attract children: singing songs, reading books and pointing out colors are always favourites. In the classroom looking through a color glass can be exciting for children, help them become aware of colors in the environment, such as changing colors in leaves, the sky, even a car changing color due to ageing. As the children become older, the changing of the color in the environment can encourage scientific awareness, such as the different layers of sea water, how oil and water don’t mix or how colors mixing can change their composition as well.
For younger children identifying colors can help them fulfil their creative drive in arts such as being able to mimic real life by copying the colors of clothes and houses. This awareness will also help the children improve communication and describing skills.
